Research

I am going to begin my research by looking at existing self promotional video and analyse them individually.

Video One:
This video was edited using after effects (the programme I will be using to edit my video) It is an abstract piece with high energy, sound and colour.
From the looks of it, it is a promotional video for either a graphic designer or illustrator. They have used extracts of their work, which I think works really well.
I really like this video although I think my video will work better with either text or voice over.

Video Two:
This video is really simple, yet really effective. The use of graphics and sound makes it interesting.

Video Three:
This promo is a photography video, although there doesn't seem to be any actual filming I think it works well, keeping it simple, with no voice over and letting the images speak for them selves.
I may try this approach to see which I think works best.

Video Four:
I then looked at promotional video's for canon, and how they promote themselves and products.
They tend to use alot of voice overs, telling you key things about themselves and products.
I think this helps the audience to understand, however possibly promo video's with voice over aren't as powerful?
I will explore this when editing my film.
